Welcome to the online press kit for Dr. Kirsten Viola Harrison
A Doctor’s Bold Mission to End Intersex Stigma, Champion Radical Compassion, and Transform Trauma into Power
Dr. Kirsten Viola Harrison is not your typical trauma expert. A spiritual integration pioneer and founder of SoulWise Solutions, she bridges the worlds of psychology, soul healing, and social justice with one goal: to humanize mental health and empower those who’ve lived at society’s margins.
Her groundbreaking new book, “I, Sean/a: The Story of a Homeless Intersex Woman Who Inspired a Community” (March 2025), co-authored with intersex advocate Sean/a Smith, tells the raw and riveting story of a woman living at the intersection of homelessness, schizophrenia, and gender ambiguity. Together, they’ve created Shelter for Shauna, an educational and advocacy platform calling for an end to non-consensual intersex surgeries and offering a new lens on what it means to thrive despite diagnosis or difference.
For decades, Dr. Harrison has worked in dissociative disorder units; supported individuals with DID, schizophrenia, and PTSD; and explored how near-death experiences can serve as spiritual breakthroughs. Now, she’s bringing her deeply embodied expertise to the public stage — speaking out on complex trauma, identity fluidity, and what true inclusion looks like.
As a doctor, mother, humanitarian, and bold voice for the soul’s resilience, Dr. Harrison is redefining care — proving that healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken, but revealing what’s possible.
